Theme ‘Identity’

Identity is the story of who we are—our roots, experiences, interests, dreams, and the connections that shape us. Many artists have portrayed aspects of their identity through their art, such as Frida Kahlo’s self portraits, Van Gogh’s bedroom and Keith Haring’s graffiti inspired work. This competition is an opportunity for young artists to explore what identity means to them. Is it about where you come from, the family who raised you, or the culture that shaped you? Is it about your hobbies and interests, or your dreams for the future? Whether you want to express pride, struggle, growth, or curiosity, art is your voice. Your medium could be anything—paint, photography, sculpture, digital art, or something entirely new. There are no limits except your imagination. Let your identity shine!

For the fourth year, Creative Arts Showcase (CAS) is launching its ‘Young Creators Online Exhibition’. The theme for the exhibition this year is ‘Identity’ which dovetails into Severn Arts Theme for the Young Voices Exhibition of ‘Courage’. ALL works entered will be showcased in a special video at Worcester Cathedral, on the CAS website and social media in May/June 2025, and later at Showcase 2025. Young artists will also have the chance to win prizes.

1st February – 30th April – Creative phase – submit entries

1st June – 30th June – View Young Creators Online Exhibition Entries

7th July – Winners announced

31st August – Original winning artwork to be with Creative Art Showcase

8th November – Premier screening and awards presentation at Showcase 25 at The Artrix Theatre

8th & 9th November – Winners original artwork displayed at Showcase 25 at The Artrix, Theatre

Submit your artwork to us

Ensure when photographing your Young Creators masterpiece it is done on a plain background, that enhances the artwork rather than detracts.  The picture that is entered is the one that will feature in the online exhibition.

    The image submitted is of suitable content for the exhibition following the details outlined. No graphic / inappropriate or offensive artwork - images will not be included in the Young Creators Online Exhibition.
    The artwork submitted will be displayed online and may be used in publicity during and following the exhibition.
    Winners & runners up original artwork will need to be with Creative Art Showcase by 31st July 2024 in preparation for display at the winners exhibition on 26th & 27th October, inside the professional exhibition gallery.
